Let's lend our support to folks on the Cape in opposition to the proposed new gas-fired generator at the Cape’s Canal Plant.

Please join the "Stop Canal 3" demonstration this Sunday December 3, beginning at 1 pm, at the north end of Freezer Road in Sandwich (70 Freezer Road). The event will be held outside, next to the Cape Cod Canal and the proposed site of a new fracked-gas power plant that would pollute local environments and the global atmosphere for decades to come. The event is organized by 350 Mass Cape Cod members and supported by the Cape Cod and Islands Group of the Massachusetts Sierra Club and other local organizations.   

"Stop Canal 3" will incorporate a short "No Fracked Sandwich" street theater performance dramatizing reasons for opposing this plant and investing in renewable energy. The featured speaker will be Conservation Law Foundation attorney David Ismay, discussing CLF's ongoing appeal of the state's Energy Facility Siting Board permit. Emily Norton, executive director of MA Sierra, also will give remarks.
