Braintree Town Council Speaks

The Braintree Town Council has spoken out against the compressor and the pipeline that would run through Pond Meadow Park.

Excerpt from the minutes regarding the compressor:
"CITIZEN CONCERNS/COUNCIL RESPONSE • 072 16 Council President: Spectra Compressor Station, North Weymouth Dave Oliva, resident, came to the podium and stated if you see the news on the Pennsylvania explosion – it could be devastating to an area like ours. A lot more work needs to be done. Councilor Bowes replied thank you to you and Mike Lang. My main concern is Pond Meadow Park and thru Union Street and East Braintree. I will not support this. Councilor O’Brien stated his is also against this. It was unanimously voted to send a letter of Opposition to FERC on the Spectra Compressor Station. Motion: by Councilor Bowes Second: by Councilor Kokoros Vote: For (9), Against (0), Absent (0)"
