/ACTION ALERT: Tell the Mayor We Want Our Trail!
We need the Town of Weymouth to stop stonewalling and finally connect the West Waterfront Trail to King’s Cove Park. This connector is a vital missing link in our shoreline loop and was a requirement of the original power plant siting decision.
TAKE ACTION: Call Mayor Molisse’s office today (781-340-5012) and tell him:
- Prioritize the Trail: Finish the permitting and work with willing volunteers to construct the West Waterfront Easement trail connecting King’s Cove and Lovell’s Grove Parks.
- Hold Corporations Accountable: Ensure Calpine and Enbridge fulfill their long-standing obligations for public access and landscaping.

This trail was promised as public access for the Sithe, now Calpine Power Plant, and part of Enbridge’s host agreement with the Town. Tell the Town that we won’t stop until the trail is complete.
The mayor needs to:
File 8M Permit to MWRA for the MWRA portion of Trail and Quincy ConCom Permits
Finalize easements for the trail
Work with volunteers and Calpine ($50,000 financial commitment) to finish the trail work.
The community is ready to see this "broken promise" become a "promise kept".
The images below represent the beautiful view of the Weymouth Fireworks from the trail. People are already using this space, but it’s time to finish what was promised. Volunteers are keeping it mowed and clear, we just need the Town to finish permitting and work with volunteers to complete the project.
