Take Action: Canvass with FRRACS

The Fore River Basin is home to 8 different industrial facilities. These facilities release many pollutants that are damaging to our health and environment. That is one of the many reasons why we do not support the construction of yet another toxic facility. We believe that these facilities are harming people who live in the area. Our concern about existing health conditions in the Basin has led us to pursue a new project: Telling the Stories. This project is aimed at documenting the health issues that people are living with in the Fore River Basin. We will collect (voluntary) information and stories from folks in community and will create a short documentary film to share these stories. You may remember us talking about this project last spring- we had to put it on hold but are ready to relaunch this important effort.

In order to spread the word about this project, we will be holding two canvassing events in April. These canvasses will be simple “lit drops”, meaning that we will just drop off flyers at peoples’s homes (note that flyers CANNOT be left in mailboxes). We hope that you can help distribute flyers for an hour or two!

Canvassing/Lit Drop Dates:

Saturday, April 6 from 10am-12pm

Sunday, April 7 from 12pm-2pm

Location:

Meet us at the proposed compressor station site (55 Bridge Street) to receive flyers and canvassing maps
