Read MoreIt came as little surprise that FERC denied the rehearing request from FRRACS and the Town of Weymouth on the 33 minute turn around time for an extension of Enbridge's permit in late 2018. What was a surprise was the dissension of FERC Commissioner Glick:
"Actions like these only lend further credence to those who view the Commission as a rubber stamp in pipeline proceedings. We can and must do better. The process of producing an order that is voted on by the full Commission may not be perfect—and the Commissioners may not always agree—but that process will almost certainly deliver more reasoned and considered decision making than the parties received here."

Read MoreEarly this morning, over 200 members of Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station (FRRACS) and allies gathered for a mass demonstration at Enbridge’s compressor station site to call on Baker and the DEP to immediately halt construction on the project. Multiple people were arrested for blocking the gate to the construction site., while two other people were arrested for locking to pieces of construction equipment on site. As a result of today’s action, construction was stopped and workers left the site.
