FERC is reviewing the certification process of fracked gas facilities and is seeking input from the public during this review.

How can you take action? Write a comment in response to any of the questions that FERC has listed in the. We have also provided some sample responses; feel free to use them as a guide to submit a filing to FERC. We do suggest personalizing them a little so that FERC doesn't disregard form responses.

There has been a lot going on at the compressor station since the last accident that occurred on Tuesday, April 6. We thought it might be a good idea to do a PSA on what happened on that day and what Enbridge's response to the accident has been.

Today we revealed a new banner at the compressor site that reads, "Out of Order". The compressor station is currently not operational, after Enbridge experienced it's third accident in just 8 months.

The Town of Weymouth notified residents that Enbridge reported a third “unplanned release” of methane gas from the compressor station this morning — April 6. This marks three emergency system failures in 8 months. The first two occurred in September, less than three weeks apart. We do not yet know how much gas Enbridge released this morning.

Senator Markey joined local residents on Friday, April 2, at the compressor site, to announce the reintroduction of his and Senator Warren’s compressor bill into the current session, which would prevent the construction of fracked gas compressor stations that would aid the international export of gas. We interrupt our regularly scheduled grousing to bring some incredible news--out of the MassDEP, no less!

The MassDEP has revoked the air permit for the proposed biomass facility in Springfield. MassDEP did the right thing and made this a truly Good Friday for our sisters and brothers in Springfield. Palmer Biomass might finally be a goner. Congrats to the activists who helped make this happen!

At long last, the Fore River Basin is now home to a new air quality monitor. It took a lot of organizing to make this happen, but we're so happy to finally see it in place. We gathered on the first day of spring for a special celebration. Thank you to everyone who joined us on this beautiful spring day.

Pieridae Energy, the company behind the yet-to-be-built Goldboro LNG facility, where Enbridge was supposed to send at minimum 50% of the gas coming through Weymouth, is now trying to shake down the Canadian government for financing.

Recently, opponents of the project wrote to Prime Minister Trudeau and a list of other leaders, asking them not to allow the Canadian government to finance the Goldboro LNG project. Pieridae Energy is now seeking legal action against the authors of the letter.

Enbridge is showing their desperation in a last minute effort to delay the briefing. We have an even better idea--FERC needs to give us the full rehearing. That should help ease Enbridge's heartburn, don't you think, Campers?

Background: On February 18, 2021, three of the five FERC commissioners voted to open up a briefing to examine our request for a rehearing on FERC’s final approval of Enbridge’s compressor station.
