/The Town of Weymouth notified residents that Enbridge reported a third “unplanned release” of methane gas from the compressor station this morning — April 6. This marks three emergency system failures in 8 months. The first two occurred in September, less than three weeks apart. We do not yet know how much gas Enbridge released this morning.

/Pieridae Energy, the company behind the yet-to-be-built Goldboro LNG facility, where Enbridge was supposed to send at minimum 50% of the gas coming through Weymouth, is now trying to shake down the Canadian government for financing.
Recently, opponents of the project wrote to Prime Minister Trudeau and a list of other leaders, asking them not to allow the Canadian government to finance the Goldboro LNG project. Pieridae Energy is now seeking legal action against the authors of the letter.
