FRRACS Community Fall Fest - Oct. 21

FRRACS COMMUNITY FALL FEST

This fall FRRACS will be hosting a community festival in the park next to the proposed compressor station. If the compressor station does get built, we could lose access to the public park that sits along the Fore River Basin. We will gather to celebrate the park and all that we have accomplished thus far in the fight against the compressor station. We hope that you will join us in this celebration.

There will be music, kids activities, food and more. This event is free and all are welcome to join!

The park is for the people, not the polluters.

Event Details:

Date and Time: Saturday, October 21st from 11AM-4PM

Location: 6 Bridge Street, North Weymouth (the park next to the proposed compressor station site). The entrance is at the base of the Fore River Bridge.

RSVP on Facebook here.

Parking:

There is limited parking on site, but we will have overflow parking with shuttles available from St. Joseph's Church in Quincy.

If you park on site, you can park along the fence and in the parking lot at Lovell's Grove (on the Calpine side of the bridge). There is a small lot on the right side of the bridge (coming from Weymouth) that will be available for handicap parking. We will have volunteers helping to direct parking.

If you cannot find a spot on site, you can park down the street at St. Joseph's Church in Quincy (556 Washington St, Quincy, MA 02169). The lot is across the street from the church. Free shuttle cars will be available all day to bring people to and from the site. Many thanks to St. Joseph's for allowing us to use their lot. See map below for details.

Event Activities:

Gather your friends and family and get ready for a festive day in the park! We have lots of activities planned for you to enjoy at your leisure.

  • Face painting
  • Pumpkin Painting
  • Acoustic music performances
  • Art in the Park -- grab your paintbrushes and create a new piece of art
  • Yoga in the Park
  • "Name the Park" contest -- the public park currently does not have a name, so let's give it one!
  • Speakers (don't worry, we will keep it short)
  • And more!

What's on the menu?

We will be serving a savory fall soup (vegan), delicious home-made bread, and sweet cookies. Water will also be provided.

Help us spread the word!

Invite your friends, family, and neighbors to come to the park on October 21st. You can invite people to our facebook event here and download the event flyer here.
